An Introductory Guide to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty stands out as the top-selling FPS franchise in the history of video gaming, and has sold in excess of 60 million units worldwide. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 received many gaming accolades a couple of tears ago, and now its follow up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will take the franchise to even greater heights. The single-player story carries on from the plot of MW2, where the Russian Federation invaded the United States of America. In MW3, the Russian Army has enlarged its attack strategy, and the campaign mode now includes missions in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

This game now offers the most advanced multiplayer in the franchise to date, and has numerous brand-new features and improvements. Modern Warfare 3 will have an innovative pointstreak reward system, a new weapon-progression system, several fresh multiplayer game modes and 16 maps included when the game is released. Including two Co-Op game modes, 40 weapons at your disposal, plus an enhanced game engine which runs at over 60 frames-per-second, this game sets a new level for first-person shooters.

FEATURES:

Impressive Single Player - Fill the boots of several characters of different nationalities during the campaign mode, and battle the Russian Federation in varied destinations throughout the world, including England, France, Germany, Moscow, Dubai, Somalia and Sierra Leone.

Extensive Multi-Player Options - Offers the wide range of multiplayer options included in MW2, as well as a couple of completely new modes, Kill Confirmed and Team Defender. A new pointstreak reward system takes the place of the previous killstreak system, plus Modern Warfare 3 will include an innovative weapon-progression process. There are sixteen multiplayer maps at launch with more accessible at a later date as DLC.

New Co-Op Options - The new survival game mode puts two players up against wave after wave of progressively stronger enemies, in addition the Mission mode presents two gamers time-based in addition to objective-based quests to accomplish - you will find sixteen quests in total. Cooperative matches within Modern Warfare 3 may be enjoyed via local split-screen or online.

The Assault strike package awards points to gamers for anything you kill and equipment destroyed, the second Support strike package awards points to gamers for meeting mission goals, and finally the Specialist package rewards players with perks rather than pointstreaks.

Innovative Weapon-Progression System - Each weapon accumulates its own experience points the longer you use it, that may be used to buy attachments in addition to 'proficiency' perks. Some example weapon attachments could include a laser sight as well as various scope options. Some 'proficiency' perks include Kick (reduced weapon recoil) and Focus (reduces flinch reflex when under fire).

The official launch date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is slated around 8th Nov, 2011, and will be sold on the following platforms: PC/Windows, PS3 as well as Xbox 360. Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Tries To Roll The DICE

Does the new Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 have its sights set on DICE's highly anticipated Battlefield 3 that is set to come out around the same time? The real question is, why wouldn't it? Battlefield 3 stands to be the toughest opponent in the FPS ring for the fall of 2011 and Activision knows it. When it comes to vehicle combat on the PC it is hard to compete with a good Battlefield game. Many have tried and some have come close, but most fail. Is MW3 trying to play ball in Battlefield's court or are all of the vehicles in the new trailer just for show?

While watching the new COD MW3 trailer it is hard to not notice all the attention that is given to the vehicles throughout the video. The video starts off with a Russian Hind flying over the bay while firing its gatling gun. In the back ground, what appears to be two F-22 Raptors flying over the water in formation. Then a truck and hummer chase followed by an Abrams tank rolling through the city while an A-10 Warthog rains death upon a T-80 tank. To say the least, CoD has never had so many vehicles in one title. Call Of Duty has always given a little love to vehicles but no where near the level of romance between Battlefield and vehicle combat.

Since day one Battlefield games have been all about the vehicles and the freedom that comes with these vehicles. It is all about not being bound to the walls of the regular claustrophobic FPS maps of the old days and having the freedom to go where you want. Being able to drive a tank across an open field while your team mates fly over your head providing air support, this was something gamers were not used to. Battlefield 1942 brought epic land, air, and sea battles to the table and in a way that had never been seen before. Clicking a laser on a target to get an air strike brought in by some magical god is nice, but having a team mate across the entire map on the destroyer cannons land a perfect shot on the air field you targeted is so much more satisfying. It is hard not to miss the two hour long midway maps in BF1942.

Vehicles have passively become apart of Call Of Duty's multiplayer in the form of UAVs, air strikes and a little chopper action, but never on the scale in which a Battlefield game brings. It is unlikely that Modern Warfare 3 will feature large scale maps with vehicular combat like Battlefield but we will see. Maybe Call Of Duty is bringing out the big guns to compete with Battlefield 3. If anyone was to take the king of vehicle combat title from Battlefield it would be CoD. It is going to be an interesting struggle for power come this fall.

Modern Warfare 2 Vs Battlefield - Bad Company 2 - Which Has Better Multiplayer Gameplay?

This is an argument which I have listened to for the past several months now, and both sides have pretty points (they are BOTH great games).

There are a LOT of variables in these games, but we are going to stick to 5 basics in this comparison. So let's start with:

* Weapons-Lots of great choices for both games, no doubt about that. BBC2 has more choices of guns, but the customization options in MW2 are far superior. Another point to make is the sound the weapons in BBC2 are AWESOME!The weapons in MW2 have less recoil, and function more smoothly. Also it seems easier to successfully use the variety of weapons for each skill class (or kit in BBC2) in Modern Warfare 2 than in Battlefield:Bad Company 2. It is tougher to level up in BBC 2 if not playing the assault kit, and this becomes a problem later on when most of the team is all assault class.

Winner: Modern Warfare 2-Overall this is a really close call, but I personally give this one to Modern Warfare 2. Mainly because of the greater consistency in kill ability between classes and greater customization options.

* Variety-Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer modes include: Free-For-All, Search & Destroy, Demolition, Sabotage, Domination, Team Deathmatch, and Capture The Flag, and several other customizations of these gametypes. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer modes include: Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush, and Squad Deathmatch.

Winner:Modern Warfare 2-Lots more variety of online game play for sure.

* Vehicles-No Brainer here! The only vehicles you get to ride/drive in MW 2 are for kill streaks, and even then not for very long. BBC 2 has gun boats, tanks, trucks, jeeps, helicopter's, and more. Top that MW 2! Hey Infinity Ward; why no vehicles for MW 2?

Winner:Battlefield:Bad Company 2. Sadly the only game even competing in this category.

* Maps-An interesting comparison her, as both games have lots of quality maps with plenty of open terrain and a variety of desert, jungle, and urban settings. The maps and buildings on MW 2 are more detailed, however they are far less destructible. One great thing about BBC 2 are the great explosions, and while there are too many empty buildings in BBC 2, it's fun to blow them up! Another feature to notice is there are lot's more places to hide (for you campers) in MW 2, especially outside.

Winner:Modern Warfare 2-Much more detailed and realistic maps overall.

* Exploits, Cheating, Noob-Tubing, Host Migration-For me this section is by FAR the most problematic where MW 2 is concerned. Once in awhile is OK, but after 5 to 10 minutes of being constantly bombarded with rockets and grenades, it gets really old. It would be nice if the game stopped pausing to migrate host's every 21/2 minutes also, as it is common for this to occur 2-4 times a match. Something else which I have noticed a lot in the last 2 months in MW 2:yesterday I started a game of team death match. Immediately I am spawned into the last 30 seconds of a match on the losing team, with a helicopter flying over the spawn point killing players. After being INSTANTLY spawn killed twice in about 25 seconds, the whole game is now over with a loss on the record books. Uhh, yeah. This makes me want to throw the controller against the wall and scream! These are some of the nuances which rarely seem to happen in BBC 2; although to be fair MW 2 has a lot more players.

Winner:Battlefield Bad Company 2-Once again hands down. Because if I see one more kid in Modern Warfare 2 with a hacked gamer tag with the little controller buttons in it, I will go berserk!

Overall Winner: Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2!This is a tough call and really just personal opinion, but the addicting leveling up system and the incredibly smooth player control featured in COD is the primary reason for this decision. Although quite frankly if the other nuances described at the end of this article are not fixed soon, I may change my mind about this!

Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Map Pack - Is it Worth It?

Modern Warfare 2 is the epitome of FPS gaming. The game has made over one billion dollars, showing its popularity, and how much of a cash cow it is. Now, Activision has decided to price the Stimulus Map Pack at $15, and it only contains three new maps, and two maps from the previous Call of Duty 4. The question on everyone's mind is if they should buy the pack, or leave it and not line Activision's pockets.

A lot of people, especially PC gamers, complain about the pricing. First of all, this is one of the most expensive map packs to have ever come out for a video game, and full on expansion packs to other games have cost the same or only five dollars more. Activision has come under fire, and many have said the "Stimulus" is only for the greedy corporate publishers, not for the gamers that are spending their hard-earned cash.

Before we start to put blame on Activision and make noise about how they are a bad company and stealing money, let's take a look at the map pack itself. Many reviews have already been written on the pack, and generally, the reviews have been favorable, citing exciting new level design, and a love for the classic maps that came with pack. Obviously, the cons were the relatively high price, but there were typically no other negatives included in the review. That's great news. Infinity Ward, the studio behind the development of the game, has created a fun, engaging, and exciting map pack for gamers to enjoy everywhere.

But then again, this is just a map pack, and it doesn't add new perks, new weapons, or anything of that sort. Just maps. If you want to learn a bit more about advantages of certain classes and perks on the new maps, check out Call of Duty Strategy.

But Activision has to to ruin the fun.

All in all, it's your choice whether you want to get the map pack or not, but so many people have bought it at this point, that if you don't have it you will be ostracized, and it will be harder to get into games, because you are lacking the map pack and can't get into many games. This, in essence, divides the community, and forces the other side to pay up, and gain access to the exclusive Stimulus Map Pack club.

Modern Mobile Games

Mobile games are the games that are run on mobile devices with less compatible with most mobile phones, produced for recreational activities for users all around the world. Among lots of game types, mobile phone manufacturers choose a small group of mobile games to execute on their newly produced mobile devices. The following paragraphs aim at explaining the major use of mobile games and the economy constituted by those.

Several scenarios of modern mobile games are based on the contexts creating the mainframe of PC and console games available in the market. Thanks to the latest improvements in the graphical interfaces mobile phones have been using recently, high quality mobile games can be produced at little cost and served for end users at reasonable prices.

Main themes of old mobile games were board games including backgammon, chess, checkers, and some basic ones originated from old Chinese civilization. On the other hand, mobile phones are as excellent as computer games reasoning textures used in the production phases of such games. Modern mobile games usually offer gamers an effective control over the characters they are playing with. Old versions of FPS and RPG games have already been converted into mobile gaming standard, enhancing the market to a much wider level where almost all types of games on any platform are available for mobile devices, depending on the operating system of the mobile device being used.

Board games are too among the most exciting ones on the mobile platform since it is usually harder to control action keys on small screens as compared to a PSP screen which provides maybe the best resolution for players. Yet, hardness does not mean unpopularity all the time, and in fact this is the main reason why mobile games are this popular among all game players all around the world. For instance, a new version of bowling game was converted into mobile standards and it was after that time that many users including teenagers were addicted to this exciting game on their mobile phones.

Mobile games not only constitute a different level for gamers but also generate a new style of economy that fully depends on mobile game manufacturers. Throughout the evolution era of mobile games in the last 10 years, it has been observed that first snake-feeding games were abandoned for the sake of more fascinating ones including those that provide 3D high quality graphics for gamers. It is also noted that as mobile phone manufacturers develop new ways to produce higher quality software for mobile phones, much better mobile games compatible with the newest features are introduced. Thus, there is an endless revolution in this branch of mobile industry, increasing the hopes of game manufacturers while firing up the wars between console platforms with those planning to support mobile standards in their upcoming versions.

Consequently, mobile games, both old and modern ones, can be considered as the constituents of recreational activities, and the promising effort performed to produce better mobile games is the biggest indicator of the bright future of this industry. As software gets more and more powerful, future standards seem to be a good means of developing more competent mobile games popular and available for gamers all around the world.

The article was produced by Michael Thomson the marketing manager for http://www.schnozberry.com - the internet's premier source for mobile games from genres such as arcade, sport, trivia and board that you can download directly to your mobile phone.

Modern Warfare 2 - Next Level of War Gaming

Modern Warfare 2 was released well over a month now, and gamers across the world have had adequate time to review new features and functions, and to create educated opinions about the game. Now it was never in doubt that the game would be "good" in an abstract sense, but sequels are never reviewed in a vacuum. The true questions is whether or not the game includes enough of the original to be familiar and comfortable while introducing enough new features to make the additional investment worth it.

So, does the sequel succeed in answering these two questions? In a word, yes.

The Spec Ops mode now available in the second iteration of the game is simply amazing. The creative team really took the feature in a brilliant direction. This is the type of exit from the original that will either have gamers raving about how awesome it is, or pining for the streamlined nature of the original.

From a technical standpoint the improved matchmaking features have really helped immersion and smoothness of the overall game play. Users no longer have to worry about being disconnected in the middle of a match because the host had to suddenly depart. It does a great job of accepting user input parameters and matching gamers in the most computable way possible.

New weapons are one of the key components that any user looks at when deciding whether or not purchase the sequel of their favorite FPS game. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 does not disappoint in this regard. Whether it is shooting opposing aircraft out of the sky with RPG's or charging an enemy position with the riot shield players will have a blast finding the best ways to utilize all of their new toys.

I would give this game a definite thumbs up, and would encourage any fan of the franchise to pick this title up in time for Christmas.

Modern Warfare 2 - Noob Tubing Standards

How often do we see noob tubers running around?: More often than every time. It has come to a time where my favorite game series have been plagued with them that even losers can play, but is this really healthy for a long term relationship with hardcore gamers and the standing of the Call of Duty series?

Who's at fault?

It is entirely to the developers and their desire to make it a noob-friendly game. At which the grenade launcher attachment is a barracks reward and giving them freedom to run around, killing you for less skill.

Grave mistake?

A harder slip-up is when they get unlimited ammo. What we know is that the scavenger perk gives them ammo when they get a blue bag. They can literally run around the map with endless supply with just picking off from fallen enemies or allies. Add to the injury is that the danger close perk enhances its effects, making it really hard hitting to those getting it on the other line.

So how much does it take to not tick off all opponents with the GL standards?

We all know that they are used mostly for newcomers that don't know how to aim. A better suggestion on using it is only by moderation and upon learning to aim.

The Grenade launcher can be had on default level 1 as the grenadier class. The FAMAS is the first gun that has it and its really bad that anybody at anytime can use it for reckless killing sprees. Any assault gun can have it with as little as 10 kills; this can spell annoyance to their opponents.

A better or perhaps simpler way is to prevent it to be your primary weapon, think of it only as a way to mow mobs rather than run around with it like a real noob and using it.

Sometimes there can be what we call gaming etiquette and its likely time to apply it to make sure everybody has a great time playing on a public match. In our COD4 dedicated server, it is banned and never being used for anything else other than annoying everybody.

So in the end, tubing standards is pretty okay once you moderate it and never being used as the main tool for killing enemies. Everybody can enjoy with using them for sometimes as nothing ticks everybody else more than another unskilled tuber.
