Laser Gaming Mouse - Mionix Naos 5000 Review

The mouse trumps dual analog, joystick, touch screen, and any other type of peripheral in terms of precision. In online games, most importantly first-person shooters, the precision of a mouse plays a huge role in determining the outcome of the game. A mouse should be able to easily glide across a mousepad and lay dead-on an enemy player's head. The majority of optical mice with sub-par DPI have trouble with this factor, effectively making them useless for any serious gamer. In this review, we take a look at the Mionix Naos 5000.

Mice are rarely sought-after upgrades. Gamers buy new video cards and CPUs, and often forget about the single most important item to increase their performance in-game: a mouse. The Naos 5000 shows that a mouse is able to change a gamers performance entirely.

The Mionix Naos 5000 looks like any standard gaming mouse. An entire rubber exterior coats the body, which provides grip so your hand doesn't slip. The ergonomic design allows endless hours of gaming to be had without cramps or muscle aches.

The Naos 5000 comes included with 8 weights, each weighing 5 grams each. This allows an extra 40 grams of weight to be added. For FPS gamers, no weights are needed, as the mouse is required to glide easily across the mousepad. However, in other genres such as RTS, it may do well to add on some extra weights to prevent the mouse from overshooting your target.

This is a very solid mouse. Instead of focusing on adding brand new features as many other mice are doing at this time, the Naos 5000 goes back to the basics and aims to provide the absolute best basic functionality you can possibly have. A superb ergonomic design, many customizable features such as the LEDs lights, as well as a powerful software backend make this mouse a great gaming tool.
