Review of Thief the Dark Project and Guitar Hero Legends of Rock

Review of Thief the Dark Project:

It seems that most single player FPS games at some point force the player into a sort of "stealth" game mode where all the weapons they have been using till that point either become lost or useless and the player has to get from A to B without being spotted by a variety of enemy guards.

If you are one of the people who love this part of a game then Thief is made for you. The concept behind the game is that instead of going into places with all guns blazing you have to slowly work your way around a building perhaps taking out a few guards using silent methods and stealing a specific item before escaping unnoticed. Your biggest aid in this is the shadows. You will spend a large part of this game hiding in a corner hoping that the guards walking by wont detect you so that you can get by.

The downside of this game is that it requires immense patience to complete the levels and often silly little mistakes cause you to die and have to restart the level again. So I would recommend this game, but only if you are willing to put a bit of effort into it.

Review of Guitar hero: legends of rock

There can't be many people in the UK who haven't heard about the success story that is guitar hero. Starting out as a small game for computer nerds this series has exploded into a staple party game.

This installment features just over 70 tracks supposedly all written by "legends of rock". Whether you agree with that I guess all depends on personal preference.

The game play is the same as all other guitar hero's in that you start off with just a few tracks to play, if you perform them well your "band" progresses to different venues and you get a larger play list to choose from.

The game also features a "duel" mode where you can compete against other players in guitar fights that involve trying to be more precise when playing than the opponent whilst using power ups to try and distract them.

This game is basically more of the same successful formula that has made the guitar hero series of games so popular. If you like guitar hero then you'll like this. if you don't like playing on a tiny plastic guitar whilst pretending to be in a rock band then you probably wont have much fun with this.
